The
house ‘Les Pradies’ was built in 1807 and was originally a small
holding. There is a large (10m x 6m) swimming pool in the garden with a
large decked area next to it and the bakery with it’s open oven still stands
in the acre grounds. Pool heating is
planned for the end of summer 2010. The barn is currently our storage and a
garage but will be renovated to add extra accommodation in due course. |

Outside |

The
house and barn (our next project) is located in beautiful un-spoilt
countryside. The large courtyard area on the same level as the house is
planted with shrubs and flower in borders. The area is shingled, so is great
for outdoor eating, as well as the obligatory game of petanque. The
terrace directly adjoining the house is perfect for sitting in the evening,
enjoying the quiet countryside. There
is a large swimming pool in the meadow with a decking area next to it. There are a number of sun loungers and pool
toys provided. From late summer 2010,
the swimming pool will be heated. There
is a newly planted orchard in the corner of the lower garden which is an
ideal place to find some solitude with a book . The rest of the garden is
left to meadow to encourage the wildlife.
Feel free to help yourself to walnuts, peaches, figs and grapes from
the garden if they are ripe when you are there. The
gardens total nearly an acre of private space. There is parking for multiple
cars beside the house and between the cellar and the pigsty.
